The Hunter's Guild is an ancient institution that regulates the trade of adventurers, monster hunters, bounty hunters, and mercenaries. Cities and towns worldwide have chapters, each led by a guildmaster. Most of its business comes from entirely legal contracts stemmed from working with governments, companies, and other organizations.

With a reputation for always getting the job done, new members are required to undergo a "trial contract", a mission meant to test their will, might, and overall skill. Members must abide by a set of guidelines mainly meant for legal civility, and being part of the Guild generally means they get benefits in their career and social life.

Briskridge, a small backwater farming village, apparently has a loose chapter led by Ivan Blackstone. When the one the party met with was revealed to be a doppelganger, the verity of this is disputable.
